TUCSON – On Monday, Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus announced at a press conference that a suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting of a 5-year-old girl.
The unnamed suspect has been arrested on a six-count felony warrant.
Magnus said the man was arrested on Monday afternoon after crashing into a police cruiser near Stella and Kolb roads.
“The little girl was in a car with her grandmother when she was struck in the head by a stray bullet,” Magnus said at the press conference. “She truly was an innocent bystander.”
A 24-year-old man, who was not related to the victim was the intended target of the shooter.
This 5 year-old took a bullet to the head Sun afternoon while a suspect was shooting at another person in the 5400blk of E 30th St.
