Coconino County Reports First Presumptive Positive Case Of Coronavirus

COCONINO COUNTY – On Wednesday, Coconino County Health and Human Services confirmed its first presumptive positive case of COVID-19. The patient is from the greater Flagstaff area and is over 60-years old.

The test was conducted by TGen North Clinical Laboratory.

According to Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS), an investigation of the case is being conducted in order to identify other individuals potentially exposed to the illness. The CCHHS Communicable Disease is monitoring the person who is under home isolation.

Also on Wednesday, Maricopa County identified 2 new cases, Pinal County identified 3 new cases, and Pima County identified 1 new case.

Yesterday, the Arizona Department of Health Services issued updated guidance related to dining establishments, child care providers, nursing homes, and additional social distancing measures. The guidance, which aligns with recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recommends canceling or postponing gatherings of 10 or more people.
