Attorney General Concerned After ASU Reveals 15 Students Tested Positive For COVID-19

PHOENIX – Arizona’s Attorney General says he is “deeply concerned” after Arizona State University President Michael Crow revealed in an interview that 15 students have tested positive for COVID-19.

In the interview with The State Press, Crow said that unless the University is ordered by health officials to close student housing, it will remain open. Crow told The State Press, “We have lots of students, many thousands of students that have nowhere to live — this is where they live,” he said. “They can’t go back to their home; they can’t go back to their country. They’ve decided to stay here.”

Crow told The University Press that the University “will be looking into” a potential refund for services that go unused.

One Twitter follower, who claimed to be a mother of a student, responded to the Attorney General’s tweet:

“My daughter stayed home after spring break. But because of an email from ASU received Friday night advising of strict Dorm Room check out starting Monday, we checked her out Saturday. I am immuno compromised, I’d like to know if she could have brought something back home on Sat.”
