PHOENIX — This week, the Havasupai Tribe announced that admission to the Havasupai waterfalls has been suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Saturday, the Tribe announced that it is not currently known when tourism will resume. As of Saturday, those holding reservations with dates between March 15, 2020 and May 23, 2020 are considered affected by this closure and are eligible to reschedule their visit for the 2021 season.

Because of the pandemic, the Tribe has also implemented stay-at-home orders for its residents, restricted travel in and out of the reservation, and is following CDC recommendations.
