The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 13,631 cases of COVID-19 and 679 deaths in the state, as of May 16. The Department said 194,504 tests for COVID-19 have been completed as of in public and private labs in Arizona.
The percent of tests that have come back positive for the virus stands at 6.2. On May 5, the percent of positive test results stood at 7.9.
Maricopa County continues to have the highest number of reported cases/deaths. In Maricopa County:
1. Most of the 319 deaths are 65+.
2. 96% of the death’s are 65+ or have underlying condition.
3. 70% of the deaths are in long-term facilities
4. 159 LTC facilities have COVID cases.
