Argument Ends In Tucson Gang-Related Shootings

TUCSON – On Saturday, May 16, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a gang-related shooting at a market store located at 4129 E. 29th Street.

After exchanging gunfire and fleeing the scene, 29-year-old Omar Rascon and an unidentified adult female arrived at Banner University Medical Center South Campus with gunshot trauma. Shortly after arrival Rascon died. According to police, the female sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Later, a third person involved in the shooting arrived at Banner University Medical Center with gunshot trauma.

Police learned all three individuals were at the scene of the shooting and at least one has gang affiliations.

Detectives learned that Rascon that and the female victim were parked at the market store next to a pickup. The driver of the Ram pickup and his passenger were standing outside of the vehicle. Both Rascon and the driver of the pickup were involved in a verbal altercation outside of the store which led to gunfire being exchanged between them.

The driver of the pickup is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
