COVID-19 Positive Test Rate Drops Again, Cases At 16,039 With 799 Deaths Reported

The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 16,039 cases of COVID-19 and 799 deaths in the state, as of May 23. The Department said 253,789 tests for COVID-19 have been completed as of in public and private labs in Arizona.

The percent of tests that have come back positive for the virus stands at 5.7, as of May 23. On May 16, the percent of positive test results stood at 6.2.

Across Arizona for the week ending April 23:

● 78% of the death’s are 65+

● 70% of the deaths are in long-term facilities
