Shooting Death Of Tucson Woman Under Investigation

TUCSON – Tucson Police are investigating the shooting death of 20-year-old Sabrina Arvizu that occurred at a residence on Tucson’s south side.

According to Tucson Police, on June 1, 2020, just after 10:00 p.m., officers and Tucson Fire Department medics were sent to a residence in the 700 block of W. Columbia St. in response to a report of shots fired and a female had been struck by gunfire.

When officers arrived they found Ms. Arvizu in front of the residence with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering aid. Tucson Fire arrived shortly afterwards and continued rendering aid but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives say people associated to the home were contacted and are cooperating with the investigation. Prior to the shooting, Ms. Arvizu and several other guests were at the home.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
