Phoenix Uncle Arrested For Kidnapping And Homicide

WICKENBURG – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers have arrested Carlos Eduardo Mora on suspicion of kidnapping his two nieces and killing one. On Wednesday, DPS troopers found the two girls with unspecified “significant injuries” near Wickenburg about 9 p.m.

The 13-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene and the 12-year-old girl was flown to a hospital in critical condition, according to DPS.

The 27-year-old Mora, of Phoenix, was seen with bloody clothing a few miles away at a gas station in Wickenburg. Troopers responded to the gas station and with assistance from the Wickenburg Police Department, located the suspect and placed him into custody. After initially providing troopers with false information regarding his identity, troopers were able to identify the suspect as the victims’ uncle.
