PHOENIX — On Monday, the Tempe Police Department declared a protest an unlawful gathering around 8 p.m. Shortly before the declaration, protesters ignored requests to conduct their march on the sidewalks.
A demonstration is currently taking place at Tempe Beach Park. @TempePolice officers are in the area to ensure the safety of those exercising their First Amendment Right.

Protesters filled Scottsdale Road at Playa Del Norte Drive in defiance of police orders.
At this time, protesters/demonstrators have taken Scottsdale Rd at Playa Del Norte Dr and have been warned by officers to disperse and exit the roadway.

Protesters then moved toward police while yelling “f$#@ the police, no justice, no peace” and throwing objects at officers
Police used pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
