On Monday August 24, at approximately 3:10 a.m., the Surprise Police Department received a 911 call from a woman, who stated that she had been shot and needed help. Officers arrived at a residence in the area of 133rd Avenue and Caribbean Lane, and found Elbert Hollingsworth in the driveway of his residence.
Inside the residence, officers located his wife, 55 year old Lisa Hollingsworth who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Lisa Hollingsworth was transported to a local west valley hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries.
Elbert Hollingsworth was arrested for 1st degree Murder
