Deputies Find Woman Stabbed With Attacker On Top Of Her At Sedona Hotel

When Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Bell Rock Inn and Resort at approximately 2:00 a.m., they found a woman under attack.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office,  when they arrived on the scene they found Andre Scroggins on top of the victim who was on the ground outside the hotel. Both were covered with blood.

Deputies quickly took Scroggins into custody.

Deputies discovered that Scroggins had beaten and stabbed the victim throughout the altercation. The victim had a badly swollen face with many injuries to include multiple lacerations and puncture wounds to her head, shoulder and chest.

The victim told deputies that she feared for her infant child’s safety.

Deputies found the child inside hotel room crying and screaming. The child was taken into temporary custody by the Department of Child Services.

The hotel room sustained considerable damage including being covered with a large amount of blood in virtually every room. The female victim was transported the Flagstaff Medical Center for her injuries.

After being arrested Scroggins claimed to have been injured in the altercation and was transported to the Verde Valley Medical Center where he was released. Scroggins was then booked into the Yavapai County Jail.

Scroggins is facing 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct with a Deadly Weapon, and Criminal Damage. Scroggins is currently in the Yavapai County Jail on a $200.000 bond.
