Sears Fire Grows To 9,200 Acres, 0 Percent Contained

On Sunday, firefighters continued to battle the Sears Fire which has grown to 9,200 acres with 0 percent containment.

According to Tonto National Forest officials, crews continue to construct firelines, with airtankers and helicopters making targeted drops with retardant and water to contain and suppress the fire.

An area closure order was implemented Saturday which includes Bartlett Dam Road, Seven Springs Road (NFSR 24), Horseshoe Lake, Bartlett Lake and Seven Springs recreation sites. The closure order shall remain in effect until further notice, according to officials.
