PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Attorney’s race is over and Allister Adel is now the first woman to be elected to that office by the voters.
On Monday, Julie Gunnigle, Adel’s Democrat challenger announced that she was conceding the race.

Adel was appointed by the Board of Supervisors in October 2019 after former County Attorney Bill Montgomery was appointed as an Arizona Supreme Court justice.
