Phoenix City Council Cancels Sports Tournaments

PHOENIX — As Arizona’s kids struggle to deal with the isolation stemming from closing and closed schools, the Phoenix City Council announced it is canceling some opportunities for those same kids to stay healthy and engaged. In a 7-2 vote, the Council voted to cancel all athletic field reservations and sports tournaments.

The ruling, which goes into effective December 3, 2020 through February 2021, will impact as many as 30 tournaments, and approximately 4,000 teams.
