PINAL COUNTY – Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is answering the call of residents who want to know what they can do to help small businesses as they struggle to survive while adhering to the Governor Doug Ducey administration’s restrictions stemming from COVID-19.

In a passionate Facebook post, Sheriff Lamb suggested that pro-business, pro-freedom residents should make their opposition to the Ducey administration’s hodgepodge and heavy-handed approach known before it is too late.

In his video, Lamb explains that the small businesses are primarily targeted by state officials based on the volume of complaints filed against them by members of the public.

It is widely believed that many of those complaints are being lodged by progressive lockdown and mandatory mask activists. As Lamb mentions, Ducey’s hodgepodge approach has created chaos, confusion, and opportunities for progressive activists to pounce on small businesses in order to shut them down.

“Those businesses need your help right now,” said Lamb referring to those targeted. “They need the voice of We The People. Their livelihoods are at stake, the livelihoods of their employees are at stake. So, I am challenging you to please call the Governor’s Office. Call the state public health department, and let them know that you support these businesses.”

“Everyone knows we’re in a pandemic now, so if someone shows up at a restaurant wearing a mask, or not wearing a mask, that’s a decision. They’ve made a personal decision. As Americans – as free Americans, and I would hope our state and our governor and the people of state public health would recognize and respect that freedom and that right of our citizens to do what they choose, and not hold the businesses licenses or liquor licenses over their heads. So please, let’s reach out to them and let them know that we support those businesses.”

“They need our support right now. So that’s what you can do. We need to let them know that we’re not peasants. They serve at our pleasure and they are there to provide security for us and we want our freedom. So let your voice be heard.”

“I am grateful that Pinal County has a Sheriff that still supports Arizonan’s rights,” said Rep. Kelly Townsend, who represents a large portion of Pinal County. “He sets a positive example for other elected officials to follow. This pandemic has certainly separated the controlling from the free.”

“Sheriff Lamb continues to give me hope that my constituents’ rights remain protected. Those on the 9th floor stand to learn a lot from him,” said Townsend referring to the Governor’s office in the Capitol’s Executive Tower.

Currently, Ducey has imposed through executive order, what many describe as draconian measures on fitness centers, restaurants, and bars. While proclaiming to be “pro-business,” the Ducey administration has allowed local communities to impose even stricter rules and, in some cases, has enforced his edicts with threats of stripping business and liquor licenses.

Those measures have taken a toll on small businesses across the state, forcing many to close and leaving others in deep debt with uncertain futures.
