Although recreational marijuana is now legal, it’s still illegal to be driving around with massive amounts of it. Some people like Jesus Carmelo Juarez are finding that out the hard way.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Juarez was arrested on January 4, after he was pulled over for speeding.
Deputies found 21 bundles of marijuana in his car, weighing 451.5 pounds in Juarez’s car. This according to PCSO “is a smidge over the legal limit of one ounce for adults over 21 years old.”
Juarez was booked into the Pinal County jail for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, and transportation of marijuana.
When asked for a comment on the arrest, Sheriff Mark Lamb said, “Dude, you can’t have that much weed.”
