Biggs, Lesko, Gosar Vote To Decertify Arizona Electors, Schweikert Joins Democrats

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican Representatives Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar, and Debbie Lesko voted in favor of the objection to electors from the state of Arizona.

The House, in a 303-121 vote, and the Senate in a 93-6 vote defeated the objection to Arizona’s electoral votes.

“After much deliberation and consultation with constitutional attorneys, I decided to agree with the objection to Arizona’s electors,” said Lesko. “Similar to the arguments made in the amicus brief I signed onto in Texas v. Pennsylvania, et al., Arizona violated state law, and thus the United States Constitution, as detailed in the opinion from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In line with upholding my oath to follow the U.S. Constitution, I voted to agree with the objection to Arizona’s electors.

Rep. David Schweikert joined Raul Grijalva, Ruben Gallego, Greg Stanton, Ann Kirkpatrick, and Tom O’Halleran in support of Arizona’s official electors.
