70-Year-Old Pima County Inmate Passes Away, Diagnosed With COVID-19

On Monday, January 18, a 70-year-old inmate with long-term pre-existing medical conditions passed away. The Pima County inmate had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, the inmate tested positive on December 30. He was then placed in medical isolation in the jail infirmary. On January 10, as yet identified inmate was taken to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

The inmate had been in custody since December 2018 on charges of probation violation, child molestation, sexual abuse, and kidnapping.
