The Sahuarita Police Department says it is currently investigating a case involving a law enforcement officer impersonator.
The Department received a report of a juvenile being detained or contacted on April 8, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., for about 35 minutes by an unknown person, who was possibly posing as a law enforcement officer in the area of Quail Creek Parkway and Campbell Avenue.
According to the Department, the person was described as a white male wearing a black uniform, early 30’s, clean-shaven, dark brown hair, and was driving an unknown make black SUV with silver lettering of “police” on the side.
The person described and the vehicle, uniform, equipment, and weapon do not match that of a Sahuarita PD, Pima County SD, Arizona Department of Public Safety, nor any other local law enforcement agency.
The Department is continuing to investigate this incident and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, seen a similar vehicle, or who may have any information on this incident to call 911.
