The Copper Canyon Fire as of Saturday morning had grown to 2,400 acres. The human caused fire has moved away from US 60 and nearby structures.
Dry conditions, warm temperatures and afternoon winds continue to be a concern for firefighters.
The US 60 remains closed in both directions due to smoldering and damaged guardrails.
