Ducey Says No Mask, Vaccines Mandates But ADHS Recommends Mask Mandate For K-12

PHOENIX, AZ — On Tuesday, Governor Doug Ducey appeared to push back against the latest version of the ever-changing guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which is now calling for mask wearing by the vaccinated and unvaccinated alike.

“Arizona does not allow mask mandates, vaccine mandates, vaccine passports or discrimination in schools based on who is or isn’t vaccinated. We’ve passed all of this into law, and it will not change,” said Ducey.

Ducey called the CDC’s reversal “just another example of the Biden-Harris administration’s inability to effectively confront the COVID-19 pandemic.”

However, an agency under the governor’s control, the Arizona Department of Health Services, says it will be recommending the non-scientific-based CDC guidelines recommending the use of masks indoors in areas of high or substantial transmission, as well as masking for everyone in K-12 schools.
