A Green Valley man, Ronald Carpenter, was arrested and charged a man with first-degree murder in connection to the death of his wife, 82-year-old Mollie Snyder.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, on August 30, 2021, deputies received a report that Mrs. Snyder was missing from her home, near the 400 block of North Calle El Diablo in Green Valley.
Deputies immediately started investigating the disappearance. Later the same day they found Mrs. Snyder’s vehicle in Box Canyon, near Whitehouse Canyon Road in Green Valley. Mrs. Snyder was not with the vehicle. The Search & Rescue Unit was called to assist, however the search was suspended due to extreme weather in the area.
On September 1st the Search & Rescue Unit was able to resume searching. At about 9:30 a.m., they located Mrs. Snyder in the canyon. She had obvious signs of trauma and was declared deceased.
The 83-year-old Carpenter was charged with First Degree Murder and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.
