
Casa Grande, AZ – A Casa Grande man is dead after he intervened in a physical altercation between a couple in a hotel parking lot.
According the Casa Grande Police Department, on September 4, 2021, at 2:35 a.m., officers responded to a call for service regarding a shooting in the parking lot of the Radisson Hotel, located at 777 North Pinal Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old Brian Robinette with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Officers initiated life saving measures before he was transported to Banner Casa Grande where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives have determined Mr. Robinette intervened in a physical argument between 21-year-old Giovanni Olivieri and his 19-year-old girlfriend in the parking lot of the hotel. Mr. Robinette and Oliveri engaged in a verbal altercation. Oliveri then shot Mr. Robinette numerous times. Oliveri and his girlfriend both fled the scene.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Casa Grande Police Department detectives located and arrested Olivieri on the street in front of his girlfriend’s residence in the Rancho Grande neighborhood. Olivieri will be booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
