The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred on September 10, 2021.
After 8:00 a.m., on September 10, Foothills District deputies responded to the 9400 block of North Crestone Drive for a report of a medical issue. When they arrived, deputies discovered 60-year-old Charles Ashworth inside the residence with obvious signs of trauma. Mr. Ashworth was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Their efforts led to the arrest of 47-year-old Agustin Lopez.
Lopez was charged with First Degree Murder and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.
