It might be a bit early in the campaign season, but the anticipated endorsement by President Donald Trump of Arizona State Representative Mark Finchem on Monday for Secretary of State finally occurred. Trump made the announcement in an email blast to his supporters.
“It is my great honor to endorse a true warrior, Representative Mark Finchem, of the Great State of Arizona, for the position of Secretary of State. He is a patriot who has fought for our Country right from his earliest moments in government. Mark was willing to say what few others had the courage to say,” Trump said.
“In addition to his incredibly powerful stance on the massive Voter Fraud that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, he is strong on Crime, Borders, our currently under siege Second Amendment, and loves our Military and our Vets. Mark will also be fighting hard for further Tax and Regulation Cuts. Mark Finchem has my Complete and Total Endorsement. He will never let the people of Arizona down!” he added.
Finchem thanked Trump for the honor of receiving his endorsement in a social media response.
“Thank you, President Trump, for your endorsement. You are leading the way on restoring election integrity. I am truly honored to be recognized for the hard work I put in and will continue to do to restore the integrity of our elections,” he said.
Finchem is part of the “Stop the Steal” organization attempting to prove that Trump did in fact win in Arizona.
While the rest of Finchem’s primary opponents refrained from making any comments, one primary opponent, Arizona State Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita, who is a harsh critic of efforts to audit the 2020 election, wasted no time pointing out that she secured more votes in her district than Trump himself.
“President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Mark Finchem isn’t surprising,” wrote Ugenti-Rita, who was booed off the stage at a rally featuring Trump this past July, “In order for Mr. Finchem to resuscitate his struggling singularly focused campaign he has no choice but to roll up Mr. Trump’s endorsement. In the 2020 election I received more votes in my district than any other Republican, including President Trump, because my strong reliable conservative record is what voters want. I supported and campaigned for President Trump and unfortunately he lost Arizona.”
