2021 Veterans Day Events Set Across Arizona

PHOENIX, AZ — Across Arizona, communities are preparing to observe Veterans Day with parades and other festivities.

From virtual concerts to the traditional parades, communities are gearing up to salute veterans of the U.S. armed forces.

Tucson and Tempe have cancelled their events, however, across the Phoenix Valley and southern Arizona events are not far away for those wishing to say thanks to a vet.

Apache Junction

Apache Junction Veterans Day Parade: The parade will be held Thursday morning, Nov. 11, in downtown Apache Junction. The parade will begin at 9:15 a.m. with National Anthem and playing of Taps, followed by the parade at 9:30 a.m.

East Valley

East Valley Veterans Day Parade: Begins Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. near Center Street and University Drive. The parade runs south on Center Street to First Street, turns west on First, and ends at Robson. The parade is estimated to last around 90 minutes. There are nearly 90 entrants.

Phoenix

Phoenix’s 25th annual Veterans Day parade: Begins at 11 a.m. Thursday and is expected to end around 1 p.m., hosted by Honoring America’s Veterans. The group expects 15 marching units, over 2,000 marchers and 10 floats. The parade will start on Central Avenue at Montebello Avenue, heading south. It will turn east on Camelback Road, and then turn south on 7th Street.

Prescott

The City of Prescott is excited to announce that the 2021 Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Prescott on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Opening ceremonies will take place at 10:30am on the stage at the intersection of Cortez St. and Union St., with parade beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Sierra Vista

City of Sierra Vista’s 26th Annual Veterans Day Parade: Begins at 9:00 a.m. beginning at 7th Street, heading down Fry Boulevard and ending at Veterans Memorial Park, on Thursday, Nov. 11. A short ceremony will follow in the park. Remember that Fry Boulevard will be closed from 7th Street to Avenida Escuela from about 8:45 to 11 a.m. that day.

Wilcox Drive will be closed from 7th Street to Lenzner Avenue for parade staging starting at 7 a.m. In addition, no through traffic from Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway to Fry Boulevard via Veterans Memorial Park will be allowed from 9 to 11 a.m.

Surprise

Surprise Veterans Day Parade: The parade will be held at the Surprise Recreation Campus, 15960 N. Bullard Avenue. It begins at 10 a.m.

Yuma

Yuma Veteran’s Day Parade and BBQ: American Legion Post 19, 2575 S Virginia Dr Yuma, AZ 85364. From 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
