The Tucson Police Department is mourning the loss of Detective Jason Southard.
Detective Southard passed away early Friday, Nov. 26. According to the Department, Detective Southard was been hospitalized for a medical condition when he died.
Southard joined TPD in 2004, where he served for nearly two decades.
The TPD asked that community members keep his family, friends and colleagues in their thoughts.
Detective Southard is survived by his wife and two sons.
the Department described Detective Southard was, “regarded as an excellent and respected trainer at the police academy, his time as a detective reflected his compassionate and caring nature.”
