On Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at about 11:00 a.m., the Tempe Police Department conducted an an investigation of a threat posted on social media at Tempe High School.
A student had reported a post/photo to the School Resource Officer, which depicted a concerning image. Additional Police Department personnel responded to the school to assist based on the social media post.
Tempe High School staff and police decided to release all students from campus in the day early.
The Tempe Police Department maintained its elevated presence on campus and assisted students with departure by bus or picked up.
Police say the incident appears to be isolated.
