A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Valley mother, Irene Luevano. During the investigation, information led detectives to 24-year-old Diego Heran Rodriguez Teran.

Teran was subsequently arrested and booked for hindering prosecution.

According to the Arizona Republic, “Luevano’s boyfriend, Jorge Luis Quintero Lara, 28, admitted in an interview with police to stabbing and leaving her for dead… Teran admitted knowing about the attack on Luevano.”

On January 20, investigators located the remains of Ms. Luevano in a remote area of La Paz County off Hovatter Road and the I-10 freeway. There was obvious trauma to her body.

Ms. Luevano was reported missing by family members on January 16. There was significant concern for her welfare because she had called her family and asked them to get her help because Lara had stabbed her in the neck.
