Phoenix Police say a traffic accident that took the life of LeAndre Johnson is under investigation.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident occurred in the area of 24th Avenue and Grand Avenue. Officers learned a silver SUV driven by Mr. Johnson was heading northbound on Grand Avenue at a high rate of speed when it collided with a semi-truck that was making a left-hand turn from 24th Avenue onto Grand Avenue.
Mr. Johnson, died on scene as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. It appears speed was a contributing factor to this collision.
