Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Looking For Public’s Help Identifying Fraud Suspect

On the afternoon of Jan. 6, 2022, a suspect or suspects, knowingly impersonating a 56-year-old female victim, walked into two Chase Bank branches in the Prescott area and stole $12,000 from her bank accounts.

The suspect/s intercepted the victim’s UPS delivery around 2:00 p.m., and stole her replacement debit card. They then proceeded to the Miller Valley Chase Bank branch and withdrew $4,000 from the victim’s checking account, and another $4,000 from her savings account. The suspect/s moved on to the Gurley St. Chase branch and withdrew an additional $4,000 around 2:50 p.m. An unsuccessful attempt was made to withdraw an additional $1,500 from an unknown ATM location that same day.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect/s. Surveillance photos of a suspect were captured at the bank locations. Anyone having information of this crime is urged to contact YCSO at 928-771-3260.
