In a strongly worded press release, former Congressman and current GOP candidate for Governor called on State Senator Wendy Rogers to resign, following her insistence that she did nothing wrong in supporting white nationalist and anti-Semite Nick Fuentes, and her threats against her fellow Republican State Senators if they voted to censure her.
Salmon’s statement read in part “…there is no place in our politics, our schools, or our workplaces for the demeaning and threatening rhetoric we were forced to see and hear this week. I supported the Arizona Senate’s censure of Sen. Wendy Rogers, but the dismissive response that I have witnessed from her indicates a level of misjudgment and a failure of character so outrageous that more stringent action is needed.”

Salmon also pointed out that Rogers’ district would be the people paying the price for her actions, as Rogers was quickly becoming incapable of advancing legislation or helping her district.
“Matt Salmon is dead on with what he’s saying, which makes me sad.” said one political observer who described himself as a Rogers fan in her last election, adding “Wendy Rogers is so focused on becoming a national star and trying to attract attention to herself that her bills are dying and her district is getting screwed.”
“Sen. Rogers must resign her seat in the legislature for the greater good of Arizona and so that LD6 can be effectively represented on issues of public policy, which her ongoing conduct and associations make her incapable of doing.” read the last part of Salmon’s remarks.
