Anthony Andrew King has been arrested by Tempe Police Department officers after he reportedly killed a driver, attempted a carjacking and shot at an officer.

On Friday at approximately 5:30 p.m., on Kyrene Road just north of Guadalupe Road, an interaction occurred between drivers of two vehicles. Multiple witness observed King, age 26, exit his car and shoot into the other vehicle at the victim, Agamyrat Agambayev, age 29, sitting in the driver seat.

Just moments after the incident, a Tempe Police officer, driving a marked police vehicle drove next to what he believed to be a collision. The officer then saw King standing in the roadway, began shooting towards the officer.

The officer exited his vehicle and positioned himself behind the car. King fled westbound through the parking lot of Benedict Park and continued firing toward the officer. As King ran through the parking lot, he attempted to carjack another victim in the Benedict Park parking lot. King was unsuccessful and continued to run westbound and was arrested without incident.
