Phoenix Police Investigating Shooting Death, Fire

Phoenix Police officers are investigating a homicide that has left a 33-year-old man dead.

On April 2nd, around 3 p.m. Phoenix police and fire were called to a residence in the area of 51st Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. When officers got to the scene they found a fire, and a male identified as Ishmael Williams attempting to extinguish it.

After the fire was put out, a 33-year-old male was found inside the residence with obvious signs of trauma. Evidence at the scene, as well as interviews conducted led Detectives to arrest Mr. Williams.

This investigation remains ongoing as Detectives work to piece together what led up to this incident.
