She might have thought she was blessed, but it didn’t look like God was on Sarah Salaets’ side as she stood on the side of the road in handcuffs.
According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday May 6, 2022 at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of the Operation Safe Streets task force conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 Kia on Highway 92 and Hereford Road.
Task force members discover that the driver, 27 year old Salaets, from Casa Grande, was smuggling four undocumented immigrants, who had fled from the vehicle.
All four undocumented migrants were located a short distance away and taken into custody.
Salaets was also found in possession of a handgun.
