Phoenix Police Identify Man Who Shot At them

Phoenix Police have identified the man who shot at them as Kristopher Johnson.

According to Phoenix Police, on June 30th around 11:15 p.m. Phoenix police received a call about a suspicious person in the area of 106th Drive and Colter Street. Officers contacted a man in the area and were talking with him, when they heard a gunshot nearby. The officers turned their attention to a second man, 40-year-old Johnson, they now saw holding a gun. The officers ordered Johnson to drop the gun. Johnson instead shot several rounds in the direction of officers.

Officers fired their handguns in return.

Johnson took off running through the neighborhood and officers went after him. They lost sight of him. A short time later, Phoenix police received a call of a man with a gunshot wound in the area. Officers responded to a home nearby and took Johnson into custody and was was identified as the person who shot at officers.
