
Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital. The man’s roommate was arrested on scene.
Officers were called to the area of Central Avenue and Hatcher Road around 9:35 Thursday night for a report of a shooting.
When they got there, they found a man, later identified as Cesar Torres-Gonzalez, in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Torres-Gonzalez told 911 operators he shot someone so he was detained on scene.
The victim was found inside his apartment, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital by the fire department with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives responded to investigate the shooting. They learned Torres-Gonzalez and the victim got into a dispute over the victim yelling while playing a video game. The victim pushed Torres-Gonzalez and he responded by getting a gun from his room and shooting the victim.
Torres-Gonzalez was booked on one count of aggravated assault. The victim remains in the hospital while he continues to receive treatment.
