Detectives Arrest Suspected Impaired Driver For Deadly Collision

Phoenix Police Department officers are investigating collision that took the life of a death of a motorcycle rider and sent two others to the hospital.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, detectives responded to 51st Avenue and Union Hills Drive to investigate a traffic collision involving a car and three motorcycles.

In the early morning hour of July 31, 2022, Phoenix police responded to a call of a collision with injuries in the area of 51st Avenue and Union Hills Drive. Officers on scene learned that a car was going south on 51st Avenue and ran the red light. The car attempted to make a left turn at the intersection in the path of a group of four motorcycle riders. The motorcycle riders were going west on Union Hills Drive. The car collided with a motorcycle rider, who was later identified as19-year-old, Tucker Jon Colby who died from his injuries. A second motorcycle rider crashed and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The third motorcycle rider crashed and suffered minor injuries. The fourth motorcycle rider was able to avoid the crash and remained on scene.

The driver of the car was contacted by officers and identified as 33-year-old Jaimie Renee Arce who displayed signs and symptoms consistent with impairment. She was arrested and booked into jail.
