Phoenix Area 8-Year-Old Dies In Off-Highway Vehicle Accident Near Forest Lakes

An eight-year-old girl has died, and three other children have been air lifted to a hospital after a crash involving an off-highway vehicle near Forest Lakes. All victims involved were from the greater Phoenix area.

According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, on September 4, 2022, at approximately 11:02 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) accident on Forest Service Road 99 and Heber Wildcat Road north of Forest Lakes.

A Coconino County Sheriff’s deputy, Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer, and Arizona Game and Fish Officer responded along with Forest Lakes Fire Department. At the scene one of the eight-year-old females was declared deceased; another eight-year-old female and two 14-year-old females were air lifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
