On Friday, September 16, 2022 at approximately 8:43 a.m., the Operation Safe Streets task force was advised of a suspicious vehicle in the area of South Hereford on Highway 92. The vehicle was described as a Honda CRV with an unknown Texas license plate.
According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, task force members noticed a vehicle driving on Highway 80 towards Tombstone matching the suspect vehicle description and a traffic stop was conducted after a registration check indicated the vehicle registration was expired.
The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old U.S. citizen, Tyree Gerald Rhodan, of Phoenix, was transporting four undocumented immigrants.
The driver was issued a citation for the registration violation, and he along with four undocumented migrants were transferred to US Border Patrol custody for processing.
