Casa Grande Police Make Arrest In Child Sexual Exploitation case

A 37-year-old man has been indicted for sexual exploitation after an extensive investigation by the Casa Grande Police Department.

According to the Casa Grande Police Department, in February of 2022, officers executed a search warrant at the Arizona City residence of Merlin Harrigan. This warrant service stemmed from a felony theft investigation involving Harrigan. During the warrant service, Detectives seized numerous items of evidence, including firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia, and electronic devices. Detectives also observed children’s clothing, sex toys, and a child sex doll.
During the forensic analysis of Harrigan’s seized electronic devices, approximately 151,500 child sexual abuse images and videos were discovered. This is one of the most significant collections ever encountered on one person’s device(s) investigated by the Casa Grande Police Department.

On September 14, 2022, Harrigan was indicted by a Pinal County Grand Jury on 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. On September 18, 2022, Merlin Harrigan was arrested by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.

Harrigan’s bond is set at $250,000.00.
