3 GCU Students Identified As Victims Of Deadly Wrong-Way Crash On Interstate 17

The three Grand Canyon University students that perished at the hands of a wrong way driver have been identified as 18-year-old Abriauna Hoffman, 19-year-old Hunter Balberdi, and 18-year-old Magdalyn “Maggie” Ogden. Two of the three were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third died at the hospital.

The University released a statement that read in part: “As the GCU family joins together to mourn the tragic loss of these students, we ask that you keep their families and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and know that God is always there for us.”

The accident occurred on Interstate 17 north of New River just before 4 a.m. on Oct. 10, when a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes collided with vehicles traveling northbound.
