A 22-year-old man, Jason Martinez, called 911 in Eloy to get a ride back to Tucson after stealing a car.

According to the Eloy Police Department, Martinez shoplifted a Gatorade from a Circle K near Pantano & Broadway, in Tucson. Then he stole a vehicle and drove it till it ran out of gas near Eloy.

Martinez was face timed by the victim because she left her phone in the vehicle, trying to track her car. The suspect threw the phone out the window after the phone notified him he was being tracked. But not before it took a picture of him.

Officers located Martinez at Sunland Gin and the I10 on ramp, hiding in a bush not wearing pants.

“The suspect was taken into custody and we kindly gave him a ride to the county jail,” the Department wrote in a Facebook post.

Martinez was charged with Unlawful Use Of Means Of Transportation.
