Homicide detectives have identified the deceased victim of a fight that occurred on Wednesday as 36-year-old Matthew Couture who was found deceased.
On November 2, 2022, at about 9:26 p.m. officers were called to a fight call in the area of 2400 East Tonto Lane. When they got there, they found Mr. Couture unresponsive and made two other individuals. Phoenix Fire Department responded and pronounced Mr. Couture deceased.
Detectives learned a fight led to the death of Mr. Couture. Officers detained the other two men related to the fight. Both men were later interviewed by Detectives and provided a self-defense claim and were later released. Detectives have submitted this case to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review.
