Man’s Body Found In Phoenix Canal

Phoenix police detectives responded to 400 South 56th Street to investigate a body found in the canal on Thursday.   

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on November 3, just after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a check welfare near 400 South 56th Street. A person later identified as Michael Somers Jr. was found deceased in the canal.

The victim was recovered from the canal and did not have any obvious signs of trauma. The Office of Medical Examiner took custody of the body pending a postmortem examination.
