Early Morning Hit And Run Leaves Phoenix Woman Dead

Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal hit and run collision involving a pedestrian that happened early Tuesday morning in the area of 26th Avenue and Jackson Street.

Just before 3:45 a.m. on December 6, 2022, Phoenix police responded to 2600 West Jackson Street regarding a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian, identified as 61-year-old Kathleen McGuire. McGuire did not survive her injuries and was pronounced on scene by the Phoenix Fire Department. The vehicle involved in the crash took off from the scene.

Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Preliminary information indicates a dark colored sedan was traveling west on Jackson Street when it struck McGuire while she was lying in the roadway. The sedan took off from area after the collision.

The crash is still under investigation.
