On Monday, December 5, just before 9:30 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call near 217 East 6th Avenue East in Buckeye.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a single vehicle parked on the roadway with two gunshot wound victims located inside. Deputies began rendering aid, until fire/medical personnel arrived.
Both occupants were transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The female victim identified as 19-year-old Emilie Gomez was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 19-year-old male victim remains in the hospital.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating this case.
