Man Dies In Off Road Vehicle Accident In Yuma

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man involved in a rollover.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m., deputies responded to a collision involving an Off Highway Vehicle (OHV), in the area of Avenue D and County 20th Street.

The initial investigation revealed an OHV (Can-Am Maverick X3) was traveling in the desert terrain when the driver, Kenia Pardo Arreola, age 21, of Yuma, lost control during a turn. The vehicle commenced to roll and ultimately came to a rest, pinning Arreola, who had been ejected.

Mr. Arreola was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger of the Can-Am, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, did not sustain injuries. Mr. Arreola was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
