Ajo Station Agents Apprehend 160 Migrants In First Two Days Of 2023

Between January 1 and January 2, 160 migrants traveling in three separate groups were taken into custody by Border Patrol agents near Lukeville.

According to John Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector, agents continue to encounter large groups on the border, especially those agents assigned to the Ajo Station.

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 220,000 migrants who crossed the border in December, with apprehensions up nearly 30% from December 2021.
